Dear Abel Tasman Friends,
I’m reaching out to inform you of a new initiative by the Swinburne Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults: Our Carer Support Group.
This support group program is free and open to anyone who has family member or significant other living in residential aged care. Please see attached for a flyer.
We hope this service might be useful for people in your community.
A bit about us at the Swinburne Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults:
We are Australia’s largest university based mental health service for older adults living in residential care. We have been operating for 11 years (since 2011) and provide free mental health services to older adults living in aged care, their families/significant others and their professional carers. We are based in Hawthorn in Victoria, but operate nationally. Currently we provide a range of services including face to face counselling, telehealth counselling, befriending and digital story services, education webinars and student placements as well as a range of group programs (reminiscence, life writing and carer support). Our website is here. We do not charge for any of our services and rely on philanthropic, research and industry grants. If we can be of service to your ageing community, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards,
Sofie Dunkerley
