Our Staff

The wonderful staff at Abel Tasman make it all happen. They’re carefully chosen for their high care standards, meticulous attention to detail and ability to interact warmly with residents and home care customers. The people at Abel Tasman embody the philosophy of caring for people as if they were their own. It’s a belief felt strongly by all who work here.

And it works. Abel Tasman has little staff turnover – in fact, some have been with us for over two decades! Our home in Western Sydney is a vast collection of cultures, giving us a fantastic opportunity to select staff to match our residents and home care customers with people of the same background – locals who are part of the community fabric.

We have strong ties with registered training organisations such as TAFE in the local area that provide us with students for clinical placement. Those who come up to our high standards – an ability to interact with residents and customers, sensitivity and attention to detail, work ethic, capacity to work in a team, and, importantly for home carers, the ability ‘to think outside the square’ – are offered employment.

And we’re flexible. If we don’t have staff to cater for a particular language, we’ll look for them. We’re happy to say we have a 100% success rate in matching carers to our home care customers. Our people are also immensely proud that the feedback we get from residents, home care customers and their families is incredibly positive.
