19 December 2025
Dear Abel Tasman Village’s friends and family,
As we approach the festive season, Abel Tasman Village remains committed to ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents, staff, and wider community.
During this period, aged care providers are asked to be particularly mindful of increased risks associated with gastroenteritis (including norovirus), respiratory viruses (particularly COVID-19), foodborne illnesses, and the health impacts of warmer weather.
To help minimise these risks, we kindly ask that all visitors:
- Follow Abel Tasman Village’s infection prevention and control requirements and mask guidance.
- Complete the visitor screening questionnaire on entry, or as directed by staff.
- Refrain from visiting if experiencing any cold, flu, or gastroenteritis symptoms.
In addition, Abel Tasman Village has implemented extra preventive measures. From today until 5 January, staff will be wearing surgical masks as an added precaution.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time. These measures are in place to protect our residents while allowing families and loved ones to continue enjoying time together safely over the festive period.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our community safe.
Kind regards
Sophia Markwell
General Manager
