This is an update on visiting and access to outings from Abel Tasman Village following the declaration of the latest outbreak being over.
Visiting is going well and we thank all family members for complying with requirements. At this stage, timing for visits will remain as 2pm to 4pm. This will be reviewed regularly.
The dining room re-opened yesterday and it was wonderful to see our residents greeting each other so warmly and enjoying time together, despite the requirements for social distancing.
In relation to outings, we will be re-opening the booking page for outings from Monday evening. Outings can initially take place from 9am to 5pm. There will be a series of very important questions for you to complete during the booking process. Please make sure you answer these carefully. We would suggest that outings in the short term are held outdoors and not in crowded areas or shopping centres. Residents will need to be tested on return to the Village in compliance with NSW Health requirements.
We strongly urge families to ensure residents maintain social distancing and practice COVID safe practices. We will supply personal protective equipment for residents when they are leaving the Village. Please make sure residents are not exposed to unvaccinated people in the community.
We have had requests from individual residents to be able to leave the Village on their own. We are currently working through those requests and will meet with individual residents to risk assess their circumstances.
