Update 27 December 2021

Hello to you all.

This is an update on the COVID 19 situation at Abel Tasman Village. We have possible positive COVID 19 results for 2 staff. We have been advised by the Public Health Unit to wait on a positive PCR result. Staff are isolating as instructed.

We now have a resident who has tested positive for COVID 19. This resident is triple vaccinated and the Public Health Unit has directed a PCR test be undertaken to confirm the result. We are not sure at this stage if this resident potentially contracted the virus from staff or from an outing the resident attended on Christmas Day.

We would urge all families who took residents out over the Christmas period to contact all attendees and urgently advise us if any have tested positive or are showing symptoms of the virus. All other residents have tested negative and will be retested today. Our outbreak management plan has been activated and all isolating precautions are being undertaken to protect other residents and staff.

We will update you all as soon as we have more information. Please do not call ATV unnecessarily at this time, as we need to keep lines of communication open between ATV and health authorities. Please be assured everything is being done to protect your loved one.

Thank you,

ATV Management
