Hello to you all.
This is an update on the COVID 19 Outbreak at Abel Tasman Village. As at today’s date (23/3/22), the 3 out of the 4 residents who have tested positive to COVID 19 are doing well and not presenting with any symptoms. 1 resident still remains in hospital as they have underlying health conditions which require more clinical observation. The Outbreak Management Team met today with the Public Health Unit as well as other government representatives. They are satisfied with our management of the outbreak and we are currently reviewing the process of easing restrictions based on zoning within the facility.
Residents are currently classified within Green and Red zones:
GREEN ZONE
Residents in the green zone are able to freely move around the facility, attend the dining hall and communal activities. Visitation is restricted to TWO adults and no children at this point. All visits must be in the resident’s room and visitors must wear a P2 or N95 mask.
RED ZONE
Residents in the red zone are still in isolation until 27th March 2022 (unless new cases arise). As per PHU advice, visits will unfortunately be restricted for these residents and will be reviewed on a case by case basis going forward. Please contact us if you feel visiting your loved one is absolutely essential at this particular time.
The residents in the RED zone are in the following rooms:
15, 16, 21, 22, 12B, 116, 117,118, 119, 120, 121
Please note that outings are not recommend by the PHU. Residents are currently only leaving the facility for medical appointments. We thank you and appreciate your patience and support at this time. We are hoping that the outbreak will be short lived and will keep you updated.
Kind Regards,
Sophia Markwell,
General Manager
