Update 21 March 2022

Hello to you all.

This is an update on the COVID 19 Outbreak at Abel Tasman Village. As at today’s date (21/3/22), there are 4 residents who have tested positive to COVID 19. One resident has been sent to hospital as they have underlying health conditions which require more clinical observation. All other positive residents are exhibiting mild symptoms and the remainder of residents are being close monitored.

The Outbreak Management Team met today with the Public Health Unit as well as other government representatives. They are satisfied with our management of the outbreak and have requested further testing be conducted today, particularly for those residents identified as close contacts of the original case. We are hoping to have those results within the next 24-48 hours.

In the meantime, visiting is being restricted and reviewed on an individual basis. We would appreciate your patience at this time. However, if you feel visiting your loved one is absolutely essential at this particular time, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are hoping that the outbreak will be short lived and will keep you updated.

Regards,

Sophia Markwell,
General Manager
