Hello to you all.
This is an update on the COVID 19 outbreak at Abel Tasman Village. As at this morning 21/1/22, there are 2 residents who have tested positive. These residents are a couple living together and have been isolating since Wednesday. Both residents are exhibiting only mild symptoms and are triple vaccinated. We have conducted PCR testing on residents we feel can be classified as close contacts and are awaiting those results.
All residents RAT tested on Wednesday have returned negative results. Staff on duty have not tested positive in this period. The Public Health Unit has been advised and have given us instructions on how we should proceed. Residents located in the Main and Camellia areas of the Village can currently move freely within their own areas. The Link area (including blocks A, B and C) are currently either yellow or red zones so at this stage must isolate in their rooms. Residents in these areas have been advised by phone and by memo. Residents in the main Link, block A and block B may be able to deisolate once all PCR results have been received and are negative.
We will be meeting again with the Public Health Unit on Tuesday 25th January 2022.
In the interests of maintaining contact with family members, ATV will be reopening alternative means of communication from Saturday 22nd January 2022. The booking page for video and phone calls has been activated. Bookings can be made from 2pm to 4pm daily with a duration of 15 minutes. Of course, residents who have landline phones can receive calls as usual from loved ones.
We will be monitoring the receipt of results and, if anything changes, we will update you.
Kind regards
Sophia Markwell
